NANCY TOM has worked with Minnow Media as a production assistant since she was in high school. As a student at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, where she majored in Communications Studies, Nancy worked part-time with Minnow
-- logging tapes, arranging interviews and assisting in the field production for Something In Common, Hard Rain, Higher Ground, and Faces From the Flood.

In 2003, Nancy also helped to produce a short series about Chinese Americans for NC public television's nightly news magazine, North Carolina Now, tapping into the experience of her own immigrant family in Durham. Nancy has now completed her master’s degree in international studies at Lesley University in Cambridge, MA and is working with Minnow on the NC Gives project for the summer of 2008.
