As a design team, RICHARD PASCHAL and HELEN BUISKOOL share over 25 years graphic design experience, having worked both in California and North Carolina. While living in Los Angeles, the majority of their work was for the entertainment industry, where Helen was with the Walt Disney Company for over 10 years while Richard worked as a freelancer specializing in Photoshop retouching.
In 1994, they decided to leave the West Coast and move to North Carolina, Richard’s home state. They hooked up with Minnow Media while Helen worked for UNC-TV, where she designed the logotype and promotional materials for several Minnow Media public television productions including Hard Rain, Faces From the Flood and Ruth and Billy Graham: What Grace Provides, for which Richard also provided the photo animations. In association with Minnow, they collaborated on the design of the Holly Hendricks Outside the Lines CD and the “Plant the Arts” logo. Included among their awards are Helen’s 1992 ACE Award, 1993 Maggie Award, and 2000 NETA Award and Richard’s Communications Arts Awards (1999 & 2000), Print Regional Design Annual (1999), and One Show Awards (1999 & 2004).
